The lack of specialists in mining, constitutes a serious mistake of the Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy Department of the Autonomous Government, because projects can not be undertaken properly, as admitted by the principal of the office, Johnny Motiño.


“Unfortunately it doesn't exist in this department this type of appropriate personnel to deal with some projects, we constantly hit upon the recruitment of staff because there are no geologists, metallurgists and mining engineers”, he said.


He explained that this may be due to that in 1988 and 1990, because of the low prices of minerals and the relocation, the careers of engineering of mining and geology at the National School of engineering of the Technical University of Oruro (UTO) were not available.


He said that, indeed, the departmental Legislative Assembly attended the request for more staff from the Secretariat of mining because before there were not so many technicians, however, professionals who could handle the different projects were not found.
