The mining company Yanacocha issued a statement where he made ​​it clear that the project activities Conga are suspended since November 2011 and that the only work carried out are related to the implementation of water reservoirs for use exclusive of the population .

"One example is the reservoir Chailhuagón, completed last year and currently has a storage capacity of 2.6 million cubic meters of water, thus doubling the capacity of the Chailhuagón lagoon , on which was built the reservoir " the statement published on the website of the mining firm.
