The committed investment in Peru's mining sector expects to generate one million new jobs over the next three years, Peruvian Minister of Energy and Mines, Jorge Merino, announced Monday.
He noted the country's mining activity provides in average 30 percent of the resources of the national budget and pointed to about 10 million of Peruvians are related directly o indirectly related with mining.
Likewise, Merino stressed the national, regional and local governments along with communal authorities and the whole citizenship should encourage, all together, for the responsible investment.
In this regard, the Peruvian top official stated the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) plays an core role in attracting investment, and leads an effort to issue permits for mining exploration within shorter deadlines
